Thunder Bay Inn

about

Firstly, the reason why this track turned out so well is because of Ashley Moran's vocal contributions, she was awesome for doing this and I can't thank her enough for it. It is written as a sort of back and forth between a girl and a guy, so if I was singing it by myself, it would have become pretty confusing. This song is based on a pivotal meet-up.

lyrics

Now that we’ve met, discussions on
Setting the sun
As it was done
Decades ago
We’ll ride to Hazelwood tonight
Intrigue, indeed
Watching you breathe
Deeper than me

You say you’re unfamiliar
Listen
Visit
Room seven Thunder Bay Inn
That’s where

We separated at the beach
The smell of the fire
Clings to me now
Trailing taillights
So then at 11:02
Entering minutes after you
We knew exactly what to do
Let our bodies tell the truth

I was in your arms
Until breaking dawn
We were unaware
And needed repair
Without a warning you had departed
Before the morning you weren’t near

I was afraid to second guess
So I just left
You thought the same thing
I just beat you to it
So I hold you to your word
Hold my breath as I unfold
The note you left on your pillow
The words you wrote are cold but true
