I recall that this was the first completed song during the 'Pilotless Sessions,' if you will. This was one of the few songs that I was able to track vocals in my bathroom at a very crummy apartment I was living in by myself in Fredonia. Most of the time, the complex was extremely loud and it made tracking impossible, but for some reason this one particular weekend, everyone left and I tracked every waking moment during those days. I sometimes forget that this song is in three because of the cyclical drum beat, which is still one of my favorites. I brought back the pitch-bend sine wave with reverb which was a staple of 'Sleep Like Contrails Sleep.' The particular bend on this song was influenced by the train tracks that you could just faintly hear from my window at the apartment. This song set the tone and direction for 'Pilotless.' It is primarily about someone who I found reckless but I still wanted to help in my own way.
