Reappearing Act

about

This song is one big angry ballad. Angry, in my way anyhow. One of the bigger choruses I had ever written to that point and in the last section I am just yelling one of the lines during it, something else I had never really done either. I was just lucky it sort of stayed in key. It features all of the glitchy electronic drums that I love and some big strings, another thing which wasn't as prominent on 'Admiring the Impact.' It's also the first time I really tried implementing those deep sub-bass drops. The song is a part two following "Refine," as I am giving up on that person I tried helping and find that it's for the best. I tried to make a subtle connection with the titles both starting with "Re," but I'm not sure that point was clear.

lyrics

The right way in, wrong way out
Before you know they're gone

It’s the only way I would stay
Feeling you had more to say
But that’s all you’ve got
Slur and flirt for your worth on the weekend
It’s the only claim that I made
Betting on your vanity
‘Cause that’s all you’ve got
To lead you to inescapable places
All the rightness I found
I can’t ignore the wrong

Nobody’s there for you when
You're better left alone
