Me and My Luck

from Pilotless by Blue Chain Language

about

Each of the old mixes of this song gets bigger and bigger as time went on. On the very first mix, the final section is actually pretty subdued and minimal, with only a heavy beat and the downbeat synth line with vocals. Once we arrive at the last mix, the final mix, the final section is probably the most grandiose thing I have ever written. It's a cry of desperation I suppose as this song is primarily about a long-distance relationship. Also, in the quiet, middle part of the song you can faintly hear the rain storm that was rolling through while doing vocal tracking, I had to keep that in there.

lyrics

Oh, whatever
We’ve seen until now
Let it fade out
Oh, whatever
You’ve thought up to now
Let it fade out

If I could say the words
That travel the distance
Complete with persistence
Is that good enough for you?
If I could say the words
I’d enter your airspace
I’d travel the whole day
Is that good enough for you?
If I could say the words
That travel the distance
They’re more than consistent
Is that good enough for you?
And when I said the words
Your lips parted and you
Answered: “I’m afraid to admit to it again.”

Dive in for your heart's sake
Then take me away
If that's good enough for you
It's good enough for me
Dive in for you heart’s sake
Or stay where you’ve been
If that’s good enough for you
It’s good enough for me
