Tuned to the Room

about

This is probably as straight forward a "love song," that I will ever write. The guitar part that I used was an old CD-R discovery of things I had recorded years before. There is a version somewhere, maybe a future Klee-Sides track, with a bass line in it which was pretty interesting as well. I really like the beat programming myself and I also brought back some old-school Blue Chain Language go-tos like the ascending five-note lines and breathy chorus background. It was really the first time that I had to do like 20 takes of just filler singing and vamping which I squeezed in there towards the end, hitting some of the highest notes I have ever attempted to record. It's the perfect final song for a record all about relationships and getting sidetracked from everything else with them.

lyrics

I'll whisper what you want to hear
Just close your eyes and draw me near
Tuned to the room we share the air
Forget that war outside here

I'll love you like I've prepared all my life
I've prepared all my life
